Connie Gottschalk moved to Pershing County in 2012 and has been an active member of the community. Connie's voice can often be heard announcing youth football & basketball games, Jr. & Ranch Hand rodeos, and 4-H & March Madness Livestock Shows. Connie has been the manager of the Big Wheels Casino for 12 years and also launched a local family-owned business, V7 Meats, LLC in 2015.
The safety of our county is my priority. My commitment is to keep our communities safe by making sure law enforcement personnel have all the tools they need to maintain law and order.
Coordination amongst our volunteer fire departments is my priority. By improving cooperative agreements with the four departments (Rye Patch, Imlay, Grass Valley, and Lovelock) we can improve services and increase recruitment. My goal is to create a pathway for high school seniors to become EMT certified to provide career options for students and opportunities to service to the community.
Supporting the youth in the community is my priority. Making an investment in improving our existing sports complexes for little league, softball, football & soccer will demonstrate that our families and children are a priority.
Growing a sense of community and partnership with outlying areas is important to create a unified county. I am committed to increasing opportunities for local groups to bring their sanctioned events such as rodeos, livestock shows, and car races to Lovelock.
Keeping our roadways clean and in good condition is important to everyone. Instead of spending tax dollars on equipment that sits idle at the airport, it is my priority to make sure county road crews have the necessary equipment to maintain the roads that are vital to our community.
Prioritizing which projects are funded is an essential part of sound decision-making. I am committed to increasing government accountability to ensure necessities such as waterlines, fire hydrants in Imlay, structural improvements to community buildings in Grass Valley, Imlay & Downtown Lovelock are prioritized over an airport that serves a select few.

I am a registered Republican leaning more libertarian. I want my local & state government to provide a good environment for my family, business and safety. I want my federal government to protect us from invasion but for most other things I want to be left alone to live my life, raise my family and make my own decisions. Add an answer to this item.
As a senior in high school I became an EMT and worked for my local volunteer fire department. I moved to Las Vegas and continued to work as an EMT for special events while attending college. During this time I worked as a title secretary preparing research for a title company handling multi-million dollar land sales. I graduated from UNLV with a BSN and proceeded to practice as a nurse for 10 years. I have medical billing and transcribing experience working in those fields while raising my young son. Upon moving to Lovelock 12 years ago I was hired to manage the Bigwheel Casino where I not only handle daily operations I am solely in charge of staffing and tracking large sums of money. My husband is a local rancher and I am involved with assisting with ranch responsibilities. We opened our business V7 Meats in 2015 to process game and domestic animals for the public. My husband and I have been married for almost 11 years and have raised two boys together with the addition of 2 other boys who we adopted into our hearts and assisted in their upbringing. We are very active with our kids activities and have spent our marriage chasing our kids to every sporting event and extracurricular event they participated in.Add an answer to this item.
I am a Christian and believe we are saved by grace and as such it is my duty to serve God by serving my family and my community.
I want to start by identifying all money coming into and out of County funds in order to then find ways to use every tax dollar in the most efficient and cost effective way possible. I want to work with each County department in order help them find areas that can be improved and made more efficient. I want to improve transparency in spending so every resident of Pershing County can feel comfortable knowing their hard earned money is being used to better their life.
I believe it is vitally important that we have a well trained, well equipped and robust law enforcement. For residents to feel safe and secure, they need to know that when they call for help it will arrive swiftly with the supplies and abilities they need to provide that help.
I am extremely hard working and I love to learn new things. I am an avid reader and when I don’t know the answer to something I will research it in order learn what I can, then seek out help from those more familiar with the subject.
